Entry Guidelines

Submitting an Entry

  • Step 1 – Read the Digital Growth Contest Eligibility & Rules.
  • Step 2 – Open the Official Entry Form.
  • Step 3 – Write an essay of 250 words or less about a woman-owned business.
    • Tell us about the business – emphasizing the opportunity, the challenges and the rewards of entrepreneurship. Also, be sure to include an anecdote that illustrates how the business could benefit from an upgrade to its communications technology (e.g., faster Internet access, more telephone features, etc.).
    • The business must be owned or co-owned by a woman entrepreneur. As a woman entrepreneur, you can submit the entry yourself, or a friend, employee, family member or customer can do so on your behalf.
  • Step 4 – Submit the Official Entry Form; or, print out and mail the entry form to: Digital Growth Contest 2008, c/o Ketchum, 1230 Peachtree St., Suite 2100, Atlanta, GA 30309. Deadline is Thursday, November 13, 2008, at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Criteria

The following criteria will be used to judge Digital Growth Contest entries:

  • Opportunity – Why was the business founded?
  • Challenges – What struggles have you/has the entrepreneur faced in starting or building your/her business?
  • Rewards – How have you/has the entrepreneur addressed those challenges, and succeeded?
  • Inspiration – Does your/the entrepreneur’s story showcase innovation and/or perseverance that can serve as inspiration for other entrepreneurs?
  • Technology – Illustrate how the lack of robust communications technology has negatively impacted your/the entrepreneur’s business. How might you/the entrepreneur benefit from an upgrade to Internet, telephone or other business communications services?

Judging

In each designated geographic market, a team of Digital Growth Contest judges will review all eligible entries. They will select up to four finalists, and then one Grand Prize winner.
